What You Can Expect:
Job Responsibilities:
Operations & Compliance
- Lead and manage customs entry processes; ensure proper preparation, verification, and submission of customs documentation (import/export).
- Ensure all cargo clearance complies with local customs laws, import/export regulations, tariff classifications, and trade compliance standards.
- Monitor regulatory changes and update internal SOPs to maintain compliance and avoid penalties or delays.
- Coordinate closely with customs brokers, cargo handlers, shipping lines, ports, and other regulatory agencies.
Trucking
- Supervise dispatch and scheduling of trucks for cargo movement between ports, warehouses, CFS terminals, and clients' facilities.
- Liaise with trucking providers, driver teams, and internal operations to ensure on-time delivery and high service standards.
- Ensure all inland transport documentation (delivery orders, PODs, waybills) is accurate and properly filed.
- Troubleshoot delays, incidents, demurrage risks, and operational challenges.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor operations staff involved in customs processing and trucking coordination.
- Assign tasks, establish clear performance expectations, and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes, team performance, and operational quality.
Reporting & Communication
- Prepare operational reports for management, including customs clearance status, trucking activity, KPIs, and cost analysis.
- Maintain transparent communication with internal teams, clients, carriers, customs brokers, and government contacts.
- Represent the company in customs audits, stakeholder meetings, and compliance reviews.
What You Bring:
Job Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Customs Administration and Licensed Customs Broker is required
- 5+ years of operations experience in freight forwarding, customs brokerage, logistics or transportation.
- 1-3 years of supervisory or leadership experience managing teams
Skills
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations, tariff codes, import/export procedures, and documentation requirements.
- Excellent understanding of trucking coordination and inland freight operations.
- Proficient with logistics software (TMS, clearance platforms) and MS Office.
- Problem solver with good negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
