• Requirements Gathering:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including scientists and lab operators, to gather and document software requirements effectively.

  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to ensure a thorough understanding of user needs and expectations.

• User Story Development:

  • Write clear and concise user stories and acceptance criteria to communicate user requirements to engineering teams.

  • Prioritize user stories based on project goals and user impact.

• Specification Documentation:

  • Create detailed functional and technical specifications to guide software development efforts and ensure clarity for engineers.

  • Maintain documentation that is accessible and understandable for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Collaboration with Engineering:

  • Work closely with remote engineering teams to clarify requirements, provide ongoing support, and ensure alignment throughout the development process.

  • Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and backlog refinement.

• Communication:

  • Maintain ongoing communication with the Director of Platform Strategy to ensure alignment on project priorities and timelines.

  • Regularly update stakeholders on project status, challenges, and solutions.

• Time Management and Prioritization:

  • Manage competing priorities and timelines effectively, ensuring that key deliverables are met.

  • Adapt quickly to changing project needs and scope while maintaining flexibility throughout the development process.

MUST HAVE: Minimum 5 years experience working with life science laboratory automation, research lab processes, or direct exposure working in a life science laboratory

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or in a similar role focused on developing tools for life sciences

• Background in software development

• Strong knowledge of requirements gathering and documentation processes within a software development environment.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including non-native English speakers.

• Proficiency in crafting user stories, specifications, and acceptance criteria that adhere to industry standards.

• Analytical mindset with exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Familiarity with documentation, project management, and collaboration tools, such as JIRA, Confluence, and Miro.
