Job Responsibilities:

Transport Planning & Coordination

· Develop and manage outbound transportation schedules, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of finished goods to customers, distribution centers, and dealers.

· Coordinate with transportation carriers to confirm capacity, rates, and availability for outbound shipments.

· Optimize routing to ensure minimal delivery time and cost while maintaining product integrity.

· Ensure all transportation activities comply with regulatory and safety standards.

· Logistics & Supply Chain Management:

· Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to ensure timely availability of products for shipment.

· Maintain effective communication with the production team to align delivery schedules with manufacturing output.

· Oversee and coordinate the loading process to ensure efficient use of vehicles and compliance with weight and safety regulations.

Reporting & Documentation

· Prepare and maintain detailed reports on transportation performance, including delivery times, cost analysis, and carrier performance.

· Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to outbound transportation and implement corrective actions where needed.

· Ensure all necessary shipping documentation, such as invoices, bills of lading, and customs documentation, is complete and accurate.

· Build and maintain relationships with external transport providers, including 3PL providers, freight carriers, and logistics partners.

· Negotiate transportation contracts and rates, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising on service quality.

· Evaluate carrier performance, addressing issues or delays as they arise.

· Address and resolve any transportation-related issues such as delays, damages, or disputes in a timely and efficient manner.

· Proactively identify potential disruptions in the supply chain and take preventative actions to minimize impact on delivery timelines.

Continuous Improvement

· Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency gains within the outbound transportation process.

· Stay current on industry best practices, new technologies, and trends in logistics to recommend improvements

Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities

· Ensure all safety and non-safety plant rules and regulations are followed.

· Ensure adherence to established quality and housekeeping standards.

· Respond immediately to items brought to his/her attention with respect to hazards, defects or non-compliance issues.

· Take appropriate corrective action when substandard performance is observed

Key Qualifications/Requirements

· Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in transportation planning or logistics, preferably in the automotive manufacturing industry.

· Proven track record of optimizing transportation networks for cost, efficiency, and timeliness.

· Excellent communication and negotiation skills for dealing with internal teams and external carriers.

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining attention to detail.

· Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards (e.g., DOT, safety compliance).

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and familiarity with supply chain management tools and software
