Job Description

We're hiring an Senior Engineering Manager, Android to join the Quick Commerce Global Services team, powering Delivery Hero - based in Glovo, Barcelona.

YOUR MISSION

In this role, you'll be part of a central team within Delivery Hero's Global Services unit, shaping solutions that serve our entire global ecosystem, and your work will drive impact across Delivery Hero's regional brands worldwide. You'll be working with cross-functional teams to build scalable solutions that enhance customer experiences and operational excellence on a global scale. It's a unique opportunity to combine Glovo's vibrant, fast-paced culture with the reach and complexity of one of the world's largest local delivery platforms.

THE JOURNEY

• Make impactful decisions: Take ownership of them, while demonstrating collaborative problem-solving skills.

• Ensure the high reliability of a low-latency high-throughput system that powers the delivery fees of 60+ countries and all Delivery Hero brands

• Lead a high-performing team: You will lead a cross-functional team of more than 10 engineering professionals.

• Collaborate effectively: You will partner closely with Product Heroes to deliver business-critical services.

• Drive operational excellence: You will leverage cutting-edge practices,

• Own the tech metrics and KPIs of your team, ensuring full visibility, tracking, and alerting

• Provide technical support for the design of solutions that are reliable, performing, cost-effective, and scalable to meet the business needs.

Qualifications

• An engineering background with the capability to assess complex technical decisions, pinpoint potential technical issues, and devise effective solutions.

• Demonstrated experience in independently leading teams, proactively seeking opportunities for advancement within your area of expertise in collaboration with your product counterpart.

• 2+ years of experience in guiding, empowering, and mentoring Engineering Managers, as well as Staff Engineers, in enhancing their leadership skills.

• Technical Background: Strong foundational knowledge of native mobile app development using Kotlin, solid experience with Android Architecture Patterns, Coroutines Flow, and Modularisation.

• Be a leader and a model, setting high standards for engineering excellence, performance, scalability and security by example.

• Accountability for projects or applications of high complexity and traffic, including experience in constructing large-scale distributed systems and familiarity with incident management protocols.

• A keen eye for engineering productivity, with the ability to identify and address bottlenecks, ensuring frequent and high-quality deliverables.
