The Associate Director - Territory Operations Management (AD-TOM) is responsible for leading and expanding AZ cell therapy territory and developing new therapeutic areas in cell therapy for oncological and other indications. You will develop in-depth knowledge of cell therapy treatment center operations and maintain a strong focus on delivering patient-centered solutions. To be successful in this role, a background in building cell therapy service lines is required. You will provide operational and clinical information for our cell therapy trials and commercial products to physicians, treatment center administrative staff, and healthcare providers. You will lead the cell therapy activation activities with a focus on collection of starting material for manufacturing, final product receipt, storage and infusions for our trial and future commercial sites. This includes site training and monitoring activities focused on providing operational, quality, and clinical oversight post activation.

The AD-TOM will be a remote and regional based role reporting to a Regional Operations Director (ROD).

You Will:

  • Lead cross-functional brain-to-vein operational meetings with physician leaders across multiple disciplines and with nursing, laboratory, pharmacy, quality, and operational champions to establish patient models and develop ‑end-to-end‑ product and patient workflows that support clinical trials and future commercial products.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders from the Sites assigned to your territory.

  • Lead and serve as the Site's primary cell therapy operations readiness contact for our multidisciplinary teams. Collaborate with Supply Chain, aligning logistics, processes, and operations with the site and needs.

  • Provide expertise around AZ's products and processes to all customer stakeholders.

  • Responsible for the operational and quality oversight, patient/cell product modeling, and field quality support of Sites in the assigned regions.

  • Provide exemplary customer service while building business relations with clinical and operational leaders at the Sites.

  • Maintain a high level of collaboration and communication with our partners in Cell Therapy Hub, Clinical Operations, Site Management and Monitoring, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Medical, Commercial, and others to ensure appropriate management of customer healthcare centers and clinical care related to our cell therapy portfolio.

  • Operational and Clinical Oversight of the raw material collection, final product receipt, storage and distribution, infusion, and oversee the chain of identity (COI) and chain of custody (COC).

  • Lead the Site activation process using risk-based tools for certification, training, and monitoring.

  • Deliver training to HCPs related to the product and operational needs. Ensure access to COI/COC is provided to trained individuals in collaboration with our Cell Therapy Hub.

  • Lead the training distribution to the assigned region.

  • Oversee Site logistics and manage changes for the regional accounts in collaboration with our Cell Therapy Hub.

  • Respond to every detour from the established SOPs and commit to responding with the utmost experience and collegiality.

  • Support site quality and deviations in collaboration with our Cell Therapy Hub and Quality.

  • Travel up to 50%

You Have:

  • BA or BS degree preferably in nursing, Life Sciences, Business or equivalent experience

  • At least 8 years' experience in cell therapy with progressive levels of responsibility.

  • Understanding of cell therapy service lines: infrastructure/resourcing/costs and quality metrics.

  • Experience driving operational delivery to timelines, cost, and quality.

  • Experience leading delivery through collaboration with internal and external providers

  • Excellent knowledge of cell therapy standards and regulations.

  • Experience in selection and oversight of external providers and development of contracts.

  • Excellent communication skills including both written and verbal.

Nice to Have:

  • Program management /Quality qualification (e.g., PMP, CPHQ)

  • Experience in variety of academic/Sponsor organizations and countries

  • Experience in early phase clinical delivery, across the product life cycle and multiple therapeutic areas

  • Salesforce or other customer management software systems
