About the role
The Junior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing infrastructure, enabling rapid, scalable deployments, and supporting continuous integration and delivery pipelines. This role will oversee infrastructure health, manage cloud resources, and work on automation and orchestration to ensure our systems are resilient, secure, and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management & Maintenance
Maintain and monitor servers, databases, and networks to ensure system health, availability, and performance.
Manage cloud-based resources, particularly in AWS or similar cloud environments, optimizing cost and performance.
Ensure the infrastructure is secure, implementing security policies and practices to protect data and access.
Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, reliable deployment cycles.
Support the automation of build, test, and deployment processes, collaborating closely with development teams.
Automation & Scripting
Develop scripts and tools for automating routine tasks, reducing manual effort in server provisioning, configuration, and maintenance.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform or Ansible to automate cloud resources and infrastructure setup.
System Monitoring & Performance Tuning
Use monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios) to keep systems running optimally, identifying bottlenecks and taking preventive measures.
Proactively manage system updates and optimizations to ensure reliability and performance.
Security & Compliance
Implement security best practices in server configurations, networking, and application deployment.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards and guidelines, supporting audits as needed.
Collaboration & Support
Work closely with engineering teams to support development and testing environments, troubleshooting issues across applications and infrastructure.
Provide technical support for infrastructure-related incidents and participate in on-call rotation as needed.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience:1+ years of experience in Systems Administration or DevOps Engineering.
Hands-on experience with cloud providers (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and IaC tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
Strong knowledge of Linux-based systems and networking fundamentals.
Technical Skills:Proficient in scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Ruby.
Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) and monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus).
Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
