Job Description:
As part of Airbus Helicopters' logistics transformation, the Transfer Specialist ensures the safe, timely, and compliant execution of all activities linked to the physical transfer of parts from an existing warehouse to a new logistics site.
He/She prepares, coordinates, and monitors all transfer tasks locally, ensuring operational continuity, proper handling, traceability, and alignment with central logistics requirements.
Main responsibilities of the job
Prepare and plan transfer activities according to the logistics footprint strategy, network design, and central transfer master plan
Validate readiness of parts, storage areas, equipment, documentation, and transport capacities required for the transfer
Coordinate temporary storage readiness (buffer zones, interim storage capacity, layout preparation) to ensure feasibility and continuity during transfer waves
Coordinate day-to-day transfer operations between sending and receiving warehouses (Marignane, Donauwörth, Albacete, Ile-de-France) and the LSP provider
Supervise on-site transfer execution, ensuring correct handling, packaging, identification, and physical integrity of all parts
Monitor transport flows and logistics constraints, ensuring operational continuity and alignment with production needs and warehouse operations
Manage operational communication during transfers, handling deviations, escalating issues (safety, quality, delivery), and ensuring service continuity
Track transfer progress versus plan, validating adherence to milestones, volume waves, and synchronization requirements
Identify operational risks linked to transfer activities and prepare mitigation actions, ensuring readiness for disruptions, bottlenecks, safety constraints, or quality issues
Ensure documentation, traceability, and stock accuracy throughout the transfer (movements, anomalies, discrepancies, inventory adjustments)
Skills & competencies
Desired skills and qualifications
Completed degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Project Management or equivalent
Professional experience in the fields of Logistics, Supply Chain, and Project Management
Several years of experience in logistics positions as well as in an industrial environment and in customer service
Experience in the aviation industry and knowledge of aviation products
Knowledge of customs, export control, and aviation regulations and standards
Proficient in the use of IT solutions (SAP, Excel, etc.)
Negotiation skills and confidence when dealing with different hierarchical levels in an international environment
Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
