Responsibilities

As an Analytics Engineer Intern in the Product Management team, you will play a key role in driving the success of our products by developing data models, writing code, monitoring data, and communicating results. You'll work closely with Data Engineers and Product Analysts to support the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and accessible product usage data. You'll get hands-on experience with modern data tools, build data models, and help turn raw data into actionable insights that drive product and business decisions. Moreover, you will explore technologies like GenAI and their potential applications to augment our product usage datasets.

DBT Modeling:

  • Design, develop, and maintain data models using DBT (Data Build Tool) for data transformation and analysis, providing accurate and consistent data for end users and stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with Data Analysts and Business Stakeholders to understand their reporting and analysis needs and translate them into DBT models.

  • Maintain our internal dbt conventions and best practices, ensuring our code base is clean and efficient.

Data Reliability and Completeness:

  • Ensure data quality and consistency by implementing robust testing, validation, and cleaning processes on source tables to improve data reliability.

  • Apply data monitoring solutions to ensure data flows and transformations are performing optimally and accurately.

  • Create and maintain data documentation & definitions, including data dictionaries and process flows.

Collaboration with Data & Engineering Teams:

  • Partner with data engineers, product analysts, GTM data teams, and other stakeholders to align data insights with product improvements.

  • Communicate complex data patterns and conclusions effectively to internal and external stakeholders, coworkers, and end-users.

  • Evangelize our team's data models to business users, accelerating their time-to-insights.

Exploring Emerging Technologies:

  • Actively research the applicability of new tools and technologies, such as GenAI, to enhance data engineering and analysis.

  • Develop and test prototypes that showcase the potential impact of GenAI and similar technologies on our current product usage datasets.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in SQL, database knowledge, and understanding of Python. Knowledge of using DBT is a plus.

  • Fast mover and comfortable navigating a fast-paced environment. Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field.

  • Resourceful in execution and results-oriented

  • Strong analytical skills and a passion for data-driven decision-making

  • Curious mindset with attention to detail.

  • Thoughtful team player, a quick learner, and have a "can-do" attitude with a growth mindset

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex data models, data-driven insights, and issues to stakeholders effectively

  • Interns who will be able to commit on a full-time basis for at least 6 months will be preferred.
