Original Advert

Solaria Energia e Ambiente, a leading renewable energy company in Southern Europe and part of the IBEX 35, is expanding its presence in Italy with a growing pipeline of photovoltaic and agrivoltaic projects. To strengthen our environmental department, we are looking to hire an Environmental Engineer specialised in Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) with experience in agrivoltaic projects within the Italian regulatory framework.

Role Mission

To lead and coordinate the preparation, review and monitoring of Environmental Impact Assessments for photovoltaic and agrivoltaic projects in Italy, ensuring compliance with national and regional regulations, territorial integration and compatibility with agricultural activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, coordinate and supervise Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA/VIA) for photovoltaic and agrivoltaic projects, in accordance with the Codice dell'Ambiente and regional regulations.

  • Analyse the agronomic compatibility of agrivoltaic projects, assessing impacts on soil, crops, biodiversity and local agricultural activities.

  • Manage interactions with Regioni, Comuni, Soprintendenze, ARPA and other sectoral authorities throughout the permitting process.

  • Identify environmental risks and define preventive, corrective and compensatory measures aligned with Solaria's standards and Italian regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate specific technical studies (fauna, flora, landscape, hydrology, soil, cultural heritage) and ensure their integration into the environmental documentation.

  • Conduct field visits, territorial analyses and follow-up of environmental conditions during development and construction phases.

  • Work closely with Development, Engineering, Permitting and Legal teams to ensure technical and regulatory consistency.

  • Contribute to the definition of environmental criteria for agrivoltaic projects, supporting innovation and continuous improvement of Solaria's model in Italy.

Candidate Requirements

  • University degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Biology, Agronomy or a related field.

  • 3-5 years of experience in Environmental Impact Assessments within the renewable energy sector in Italy.

  • Strong knowledge of the VIA/VAS procedures, national legislation (D.Lgs. 152/2006) and regional regulations.

  • Experience in agrivoltaic projects and in assessing impacts on agricultural activities.

  • Ability to coordinate consultancies, technical studies and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Experience engaging with Italian public authorities and local stakeholders.

  • Analytical, structured and results‑oriented profile.

  • Valuable experience in GIS, territorial analysis or environmental modelling.

  • Native Italian, professional level of English, and other languages such as Spanish are considered an asset.
