  • For candidates who are already based in Middle East, the position is location-based within the Middle East, with no relocation. The final candidates will remain in their current location in ME.

  • For candidates who are based outside Middle East, relocation is required for one of the ME countries.

Job Mission

The purpose of the Middle East (ME) Medical Enabler - Ophthalmology role is to serve as a specialized therapeutic expert who optimizes regional resources to drive strategic medical outcomes and strengthen capabilities across the ME region, while ensuring sustained local engagement and focus within the assigned disease area.

This role operates within affiliates, working closely with Medical Enablers, Disease Commercialization Leader (DCL), Marketing and Omnichannel Enabler and affiliate point of contact to achieve disease area ambition.

This role operates 80% for the ME countries, working closely with Disease Area Squads, ME affiliate POCs, Disease Commercialization Leader (DCL), Patient Journey Partners (PJPs), Medical, Access, and Informatics to co-create meaningful experiences and drive commercial success.

The remaining 20% will stay within the local Affiliate or Chapter to maintain flexibility and relevance at the local level.



Your Impact

Strategic Medical Leadership

  • Lead and coordinate regional medical initiatives, driving aligned execution across markets in collaboration with affiliate SMEs and cross-country work package teams.

  • Consolidate cross-market insights, identify common challenges, and scale impactful solutions regionally.

  • Shape the medical direction at ME Level for the respective Disease Area across its full lifecycle, ensuring meaningful, consistent value delivery.


Capability Building & Knowledge Transfer

  • Enhance medical capabilities through high-value training programs for enablers, PPOCs, and new joiners.

  • Ensure coherent scientific communication by aligning with Global Medical Affairs and facilitating consistent data dissemination.


Medical Intelligence & Preparedness

  • Drive competitive intelligence activities, synthesizing insights and ensuring strategic preparedness.

  • Coordinate with the Marketing and Omnichannel Enabler on the creation and regional adaptation of scientific and promotional materials.


Launch Excellence

  • Support pre-launch and launch readiness activities, contribute to DA plans, define launch archetypes, and ensure robust launch preparation across countries.

  • Execution of ME scientific education activities to emphasize the unmet need in DAs prior to launch

  • Execution of ME medical insight gathering activities through engagement of top TAEs.

Who You Are

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in life sciences or a related field

  • You bring a minimum of 5 years' experience in medical within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector

  • You have prior experience in Ophthalmology

  • You are skilled in integrated evidence generation planning (depending on DA)

  • You are able to develop, curate and adapt, compelling engaging, scientifically accurate and compliant content

  • You demonstrate an experience in working within cross-functional, matrixed environments

  • You have experience in working beyond affiliate level while leading or being part of WPTs

  • You think strategically and creatively

  • You act as a disease area expert

  • You operate with a strong patient-centric mindset

  • You build strong collaborative relationships and partnerships

  • You adapt quickly and embrace a growth mindset

  • You communicate with clarity and persuasion
