I'm Juan, CEO of Invopop. We help global companies like Fever, DeepL, and Booksy issue and receive invoices that comply with local requirements across 25+ countries.

We're hiring a Chief of Staff to work with me on the company's most important priorities, from launching new business lines and shaping product direction to fundraising, investor reporting, and the operational work that comes with growth across finance, sales, hiring, and more.

We're looking for someone with both business interest and technical curiosity, especially around agentic AI. Someone who can go deep into any function of the company, understand how it works, define what great looks like, and build the processes and agents to run it.

I deeply believe it's the most exciting time to do this: where a traditional Chief of Staff would improve a process and hire someone to run it, you'll now be able to deploy agents to run it and continuously improve it, creating far more leverage than was previously possible.

This is the perfect role for someone who eventually wants to start a company: a front-row seat to how a startup is built, and real ownership from day one.

About Invopop

Invopop helps global companies like SumUp, Fever, and DeepL issue and receive invoices across more than 25 countries through a single API.

In the next five years, more than 40 countries, including the entire EU, will mandate that businesses send invoices electronically (in XML format) and report them in real-time to tax authorities. This reduces fraud and enables companies to automate invoice processing instead of relying on OCR. There's only one catch: each country has defined unique standards, forcing global companies to build dozens of local integrations-or integrate once with Invopop. :)

Invopop was founded by Sam Lown, co-founder and former CTO of Cabify, based on his experience dealing with this problem at Cabify, and Juan Moliner (ex-BCG).

We've raised €2.8M from top-tier global VC firms, including YCombinator (W23), and have been named the Best Startup at South Summit 2024 and Madrid's Hottest Startup of 2024 by Wired.

Your mission as Chief of Staff

You'll work across some of the company's highest-priority initiatives, helping bring more leverage, structure, and execution to the business.

What you'll do:

• Work with the CEO on the company's top priorities across strategy, product, growth, finance, and operations.

• Take full ownership of projects and tasks from start to finish, whether it's leading major strategic initiatives, such as launching new product lines, or handling essential day-to-day responsibilities, such as ensuring our taxes are paid on time.

• Implement AI agents to scale, automate, and improve internal processes throughout the organisation.

Who we're looking for

Must-have

• 2-5 years of experience in a high-performance environment such as consulting, investment banking, or a fast-moving tech startup

• Native or bilingual English. Strong writing and communication skills

• High ownership, agency, and ability to drive projects independently under ambiguity

• Strong curiosity for business and how companies are built

• Hands-on experience using LLMs, agents, or AI tools in real work environments.

Nice to have

• Background in engineering, product, operations, or another analytical role

• Experience in a startup or scale-up

• Comfort with spreadsheets, SQL, or workflow automation tools

• Professional-level Spanish

Where you'll work

We're based in Madrid, at Calle Guadalquivir 22 (El Viso), a 5-minute walk from Nuevos Ministerios.

We trust people to organize their work in the way that makes them most productive. That said, we've learned that high-context work moves faster in person, so we expect to be in the office at least 3 days per week.
