WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE RIDE
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 5+ years in engineering senior leadership roles.
- Proven track record in leading multi-team organizations (~40+ engineers) in complex technical domains.
- Deep understanding of engineering and product strategy, architecture, operational excellence, and cross-functional execution.
- Strong command of cloud infrastructure, scalable system design, and cost optimization techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in high-growth environments, ideally within B2C platforms or marketplaces.
- Solid understanding of business fundamentals and financial frameworks.
- Experience working in a global/multicultural tech organization is a strong plus.

YOUR MISSION
As a Director of Engineering at Glovo, you will take full ownership of a cluster, which is a complex technical domain consisting of at least 40+ engineers, with a direct reporting line of 4 Engineering Managers and up to 2 Principal Engineers. You will have significant impact at the cluster level, as well as influence across Glovo and Delivery Hero's broader tech organization, working closely with Product, Data, Business, Operations and C-level stakeholders.
You are a strategic, people-first leader who combines deep technical understanding, business acumen, and a strong leadership philosophy to drive impact at scale.
THE JOURNEY
Leadership & People Management
Lead a cluster with ~40+ engineers through 4 direct EMs, fostering high-performing teams.
Build and adapt your leadership framework to suit organizational needs as they evolve.
Provide continuous performance management and meaningful 360° feedback.
Ensure clarity of managerial expectations across your teams and alignment with company OKRs.
Create an inclusive, engaging, and purpose-driven culture within your cluster.
Business Awareness & Strategic Goal Setting
Partner closely with Operations and Product leaders to drive business outcomes.
Use data-driven approaches to identify issues, assess impact, and define strategic responses.
Maintain transparency with your teams, providing rich context around priorities and decisions.
Understand core business and financial concepts to align engineering investments with business value.
Build, communicate, and execute your cluster's strategy and OKRs in alignment with company goals.
Delivery & Stakeholder Engagement
Own communication and alignment with global and local stakeholders, including C-level representation of your Cluster's objectives and achievements.
Govern cluster-level budgeting and resource allocation effectively.
Ensure visibility and synchronization across initiatives within and beyond your cluster.
Technical Strategy & Operational Excellence
Drive architectural direction, technical quality, and operational maturity in your area.
Lead the implementation of best practices for incident handling, system design, security, and performance.
Build future-ready infrastructure and application architecture that balances scalability, maintainability, and cost efficiency.
Establish and enforce engineering excellence standards across your domain.
Global Collaboration & Engineering Citizenship
Champion initiatives that drive collaboration across Glovo and the broader Delivery Hero ecosystem.
Helping harmonize practices between Glovo and DH tech teams.
