Requirements
What skills do you need?
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Financial Crime Compliance, including AML, Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions Screening, and KYC, ideally within fintech or financial services.
- 2+ years of experience in a senior compliance role, preferably acting as Compliance Officer, MLRO, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience interacting with regulators and supervisory authorities, including managing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
- Proven experience leading regulatory audits or inspections and managing remediation processes.
- Strong technical understanding of AML/CTF risk assessments and financial crime control frameworks.
- Solid knowledge of the Argentine financial crime regulatory landscape and FIU expectations.
- Experience designing transaction monitoring scenarios and risk-based KYC onboarding frameworks.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage effectively with regulators, senior management, and banking partners.
- Experience working in dynamic, high-growth environments, ideally within fintech or digital payments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Fluent in English (Spanish strongly preferred/required depending on context).
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

What will you be doing?
- Manage and oversee the Argentina Financial Crime Compliance and AML/CTF Programme, ensuring alignment with local regulatory requirements and group standards.
- Prepare and maintain the AML/CTF annual Risk Self-Assessment, including the development and ongoing improvement of its methodology.
- Ensure the effective operation of Transaction Monitoring and Sanctions Screening controls, including oversight of alert handling and escalation processes.
- • Manage the suspicious activity reporting process, ensuring full compliance with the requirements of the Argentine Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU).
- Act as the primary point of contact with regulatory authorities and supervisory bodies, maintaining proactive and constructive relationships.
- Lead regulatory inspections and audits from start to finish, including preparation, coordination of internal stakeholders, responses to findings, and remediation follow-up.
- Proactively monitor and communicate regulatory developments and changes in Argentina, ensuring timely dissemination to internal teams and relevant stakeholders.
- Design and propose customized AML transaction monitoring scenarios tailored to the risk profile of customers operating in Argentina.
- Define and propose KYC onboarding requirements and controls aligned with local regulations and risk-based standards.
- Establish and monitor the risk appetite for payment processing activities, including defining thresholds and controls for alert monitoring.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and refine transactional monitoring rules and financial crime controls.
- Maintain and contribute to the company's compliance obligations repository, ensuring completeness and regulatory accuracy.
- Prepare, review, and maintain AML/CTF policies and procedures, ensuring they remain aligned with regulatory guidance and internal governance frameworks.
- Incorporate guidelines, best practices, and communications issued by the FIU into internal controls, processes, and training programmes.
- Serve as the key liaison between local management (Board of Directors) and Group Compliance/management, ensuring alignment between local regulatory expectations and group strategy.
- Own and manage relationships with local banking partners and financial institutions, ensuring compliance expectations are met and maintained.
- Inform directors, managers, employees, and collaborators about changes in Argentine AML/CTF/CPF regulations and their operational impact.
- Advise teams across the organization on compliance matters, regulatory expectations, and financial crime risk mitigation best practices.
- Prepare thematic reports and periodic compliance reporting, both internally and for regulatory or external stakeholders, where required.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the financial crime compliance training programme, ensuring appropriate coverage and recordkeeping of completion rates.
- Promote a strong risk-aware culture across the organization and ensure adherence to internal control practices.
- Monitor risk identification and assessment across company processes, including tracking and resolution of compliance incidents.
- Follow up on recommendations and remediation actions stemming from internal audits, regulatory inspections, and control reviews.
