Job Title
The ESG Compliance Finance Manager provides the financial approach and rigor necessary to comply with evolving finance requirements included in the ESG regulatory framework and ensure right connectivity and consistency between both documents, Annual Accounts and Sustainability reports. He/she will ensure that financial requirements included in the new ESG regulation is being correctly implemented and are consistent with the accounting policies of the Amadeus Group. The ESG Compliance Finance Manager will work closely with the Sustainability team to promote that the company's accounting strategy/policies and the sustainability related ones are aligned.
Beyond compliance, he/she will be involved in special projects aimed at enhancing the organization and operational efficiency of the department, including high-level technical initiatives such as the quantification of financial effects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of finance principles and practices and sustainability framework, having the technical proficiency to lead financial quantification projects and the strategic mindset to improve departmental organization.
What You'll Do
Special projects:
- Provide support on special projects aimed at enhancing the area's strategy, organizational cohesion, and process efficiency, contributing to the continuous improvement and evolution of the Corporate Accounting area.
- Drive the development and implementation of methodologies to quantify financial effects arising from ESG risks and opportunities, as well as other strategic business areas, ensuring these impacts are strategically measured, with strong focus on compliance with related requirements.
Connectivity between financial and non-financial information
- Ensure strong connectivity between the Sustainability Report and the Consolidated Financial Statements, monitoring emerging connectivity related guidances and evolving regulatory projects to guarantee consistency, compliance, and alignment across financial and non‑financial disclosures.
- Provide support to Amadeus Sustainability Reporting Team to correctly implement financial requirements related with the Sustainability reporting regulations, and to ensure that the report is properly published along with the Annual Accounts.
- Ensure developing of robust processes for gathering, traceability and audit finance related data and information related with the Sustainability report.
- Drive the implementation of the EU Taxonomy framework, and lead the assessment of Taxonomy eligibility and alignment for the Group's activities, facilitating the calculation of mandatory KPIs (Turnover, CapEx, and OpEx) and ensuring full compliance with EU Taxonomy disclosure requirements.
Technical advice on financial requirements included in the Sustainability report:
- Stay up-to-date and provide advice and guidance on finance/accounting matters and the latest ESG regulation.
- Participate in the coordination of external consultants to ensure they have the correct understanding of the company and of projects they are working on, and are progressing as expected, with strong focus on financial information related with the Sustainability report.
- Provide support on connectivity and ESG topics requiring deeper analysis, including the collection, organization, and understanding of information, and the potential effects for Amadeus' ESG reporting.
- Attend webcasts, forums, and conferences to stay updated on the trends in the areas (connectivity, reporting, taxonomy, etc) and how they may impact us.
Data reliability and related controls:
- Support the Sustainability team on the coordination with external auditors and answering their questions/issues, and ensure the related financial information is provided accurately and on time.
- Support the Sustainability team on the process to facilitate the documentation necessary to guarantee the correct functioning of internal controls, with strong focus on related financial information.
- Propose and incorporate improvements in obtaining information for external reporting processes and its potential automation, with a strong emphasis on the corresponding financial information.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: University Degree in Economics, Finance or Business Administration. Master's degree in a related field, such as Environmental Management, Sustainability, or Business Ethics would be an asset. Strong understanding of ESG legislation and frameworks.
Work experience:
- 4+ years of experience in an auditing or consulting firm and 3+ years of experience in an ESG-related role.
- Experience in reviewing finance/accounting/connectivity and sustainability policies, risk assessments, including participation in risk‑related projects and risk quantification, and mitigation and adaptation strategies.
- Experience in financial and non-financial external reporting and assurance.
