Tecnoambiente is a professional services company specializing in environmental consulting in marine and terrestrial environments, as well as in hydrographic, geophysical, and offshore geotechnical research. We also provide services as an accredited Inspection Body and Testing Laboratory (17020 and 17025), with expert capabilities in environmental matrices. Our clients belong to the renewable energy, submarine cables and pipelines, and port and coasts sectors, among many others.
We're looking for a Marine Scientist, at our delegation in Cerdanyola del Vallès (Barcelona). The Marine Scientist plays a key role in executing comprehensive offshore surveys. This position involves the collection and analysis of subsea data using advanced geophysical and/or geotechnical technologies
Key job responsibilities:
- Conduct geophysical and geotechnical surveys using specialized equipment:
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, environmental and quality policies, and industry standards during operations, including the 7 rules that save lifes.
- Gather and record accurate and reliable data on sea floor depth, underwater obstructions, and seabed conditions (Mobilize, calibrate, operate and maintain survey equipment).
- Configure and test data acquisition and processing software to ensure compatibility and proper operation.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of survey procedures, data collection methods, and equipment configurations.
- Lead / supervise equipment deployment and recovery operations.
- Process, interpretate and monitore subsea, seismic and surface navigation data.
- Identify and mitigate data artifacts, noise, and errors
- Interprete geophysical data to identify seabed features, sub-seabed structures, and potential hazards.
- Prepare detailed quality assurance documentation and reports.
¿Tienes lo que se necesita?
- Bachelor's degree in Hydrography, Marine Geomatics, Oceanography, Geophysics, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in geophysical and/or geotechnical surveying in offshore environments or related fields or experience.
- Capability to work in challenging offshore environments, including confined spaces, heights, and varying weather conditions.
- Must be available for flexible scheduling during the acquisition phase, including extended hours and weekends, to accommodate operational demands and ensure uninterrupted data collection.
- Ability to work offshore, involving extended periods on vessels.
- Relevant certifications such as Hydrographic Surveyor Certification or industry-specific training (e.g., BOSIET, HUET).
- English mandatory (100%). Spanish desired.
