Job Description
Job Title: Workshop Apprentice
Hours: Monday - Friday 07:30 - 16.00
Location: Trafford Park

Are you practical, hands‑on, and eager to learn? Join our specialist technical team as a Workshop Apprentice, where you will be involved in sample preparation. You'll gain real-world engineering skills while working with industry‑leading experts. In this apprenticeship, you'll be hands‑on in machining and preparing coated pipeline samples that contribute to advanced testing projects for global customers. You'll learn how to work to strict industry standards, operate precision workshop machinery, and contribute to a safe, high‑quality laboratory environment.
As part of your apprenticeship, you'll be trained to:
- Work under the guidance of the Workshop Supervisor to read and interpret engineering drawings, standards and specifications.
- Verify dimensions and quality before samples enter the laboratory.
- Prepare and machine coated test samples
- Maintain accurate preparation records and follow document‑control procedures.
- Operate workshop machinery safely and within competency limits.
- Support routine equipment checks
