Overview

The Endpoint & Local Technology Manager is responsible for leading the endpoint and local technology function to ensure the organisation operates a secure, resilient, and high-performing end-user computing environment.

The role owns the strategy, standards, and delivery of endpoint and local technology services, ensuring alignment with business needs, cybersecurity requirements, and industry best practices, including the CIS Critical Security Controls (CIS90). The role provides technical leadership, drives continuous improvement, and ensures security-by-design is embedded across all endpoint and workplace technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Endpoint Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and own the endpoint and local technology strategy, aligned to organisational objectives and cyber security standards.
  • Establish and maintain global endpoint standards for build, configuration, hardening, patching, and lifecycle management.
  • Drive consistency across regions while accommodating justified local requirements.
  • Act as the senior technical authority for endpoint and local technology decisions.

Endpoint & Asset Management

  • Ensure all endpoints and local technology assets are accurately inventoried, managed, and monitored throughout their lifecycle.
  • Maintain secure configuration baselines and ensure configuration drift is identified and remediated.
  • Oversee device provisioning, replacement, and secure decommissioning processes.

Security, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure endpoints meet security and compliance requirements, including encryption, endpoint detection and response (EDR), identity controls, and device health.
  • Manage endpoint-related risks and exceptions, ensuring they are documented, approved, and reviewed.
  • Support internal and external audits, assurance activities, and regulatory requirements.

Patch & Vulnerability Management

  • Own endpoint patching and vulnerability remediation processes, ensuring timely deployment in line with defined SLAs.
  • Work closely with Cyber Security teams to prioritise remediation based on risk.
  • Track and report patch and vulnerability compliance.

Incident Response & Operational Support

  • Support security incident response activities related to endpoints and local technology.
  • Ensure the capability exists to rapidly contain incidents, including device isolation and access restriction.
  • Act as an escalation point for major endpoint or local technology incidents.

Local Technology & Site Services

  • Oversee delivery of local technology services, including on-site support, workplace technology, and site-specific IT services.
  • Ensure local technology services meet corporate security and operational standards.
  • Manage escalations for complex or high-impact local technology issues.

People Leadership & Capability Development

  • Lead, develop, mentor endpoint and local technology team members.
  • Set clear objectives, roles, and expectations.
  • Build and maintain a high-performing team with strong technical capability and accountability.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for endpoint and local technology services for internal stakeholders.
  • Manage third-party vendors and service providers delivering endpoint or local technology services.
  • Ensure vendors adhere to contractual, operational, and security requirements.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Define and track key performance indicators, including endpoint compliance, vulnerability remediation, Secure Score contribution, and service performance.
  • Use metrics and insights to drive continuous improvement and inform strategic decisions.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience leading endpoint and end-user computing environments in a complex organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of modern endpoint management and security practices.
  • Experience in defining and enforcing technical standards across multiple locations.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, including CIS Critical Security Controls.
  • Experience managing operational risk and technical exceptions.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Experience leading and developing technical teams.
  • English fluency.
  • Valid work permit within the EU

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with modern endpoint management platforms (e.g. Intune, PatchMyPC, Configuration Manager).
  • Experience with endpoint security tooling (e.g. EDR, disk encryption, device compliance).
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust and Conditional Access concepts.
  • Experience working in regulated or security-conscious environments.

Qualifications

  • Relevant technical or IT qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Professional certifications in endpoint, infrastructure, or security disciplines (desirable but not essential).
