Openbank Pay leverages the technological resources and expertise of Openbank, the digital-native bank of the Santander Group, which is currently rolling out its international expansion plans. Through a simple and flexible banking model, Openbank offers customers the possibility to manage their finances on the website or app.

Mission and responsibilities:

Openbank Pay is seeking a hands-on Scaled Accounts Manager to drive the operational and commercial execution of the Scaled Accounts merchant portfolio across Europe.

This role focuses on day-to-day performance management, merchant activation, optimization and coordination with internal teams to ensure efficient and profitable execution of the segment strategy.

The main tasks of this role will be the following:

Commercial Execution

  • Execute acquisition, onboarding and activation initiatives for small merchants.
  • Monitor merchant performance and implement corrective actions where needed.
  • Support growth initiatives and campaign rollouts across the portfolio.

Operational Coordination

  • Ensure smooth onboarding processes and coordination with Operations and Tech.
  • Monitor SLA compliance and operational KPIs.
  • Escalate and resolve execution bottlenecks.

Performance Monitoring

  • Track volumes, margins, approval rates and risk indicators at merchant level.
  • Support P&L monitoring for the segment.
  • Prepare structured reporting for Director Scaled Accounts.

Process & Efficiency

  • Contribute to automation and standardization initiatives.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and propose improvements.
  • Support documentation and playbook creation for repeatable execution.

To be successful in the role you must have:

  • 6+ years of experience in commercial operations, merchant management or fintech partnerships.
  • Strong operational mindset with ability to execute at pace.
  • Good understanding of digital lending, payments or embedded finance.
  • Analytical skills and KPI-driven approach.
  • Fluent English.

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with CRM or merchant performance tools.
  • Exposure to pan-European merchant portfolios.
  • Background in scalable commercial models.
