THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE

We are looking for a Global Head of Digital Assets based out of MADRID.

As Global Head of Digital Assets, you will be responsible for leading a front office digital assets team within the Cash Management Business of our Global Transaction Bank. You will collaborate with Clients, Front Office Sales, Origination, Product, as well as Technical and Operational teams. You will also represent Santander in relevant digital assets industry forums / consortiums which are focused on reaching market standards and solutions. You will report to Senior Management and stakeholders, as well as collaborating with other Digital Assets Functions within the Group.

• Team leadership: Lead a team of Digital Assets Product Owners who are focused on the business case, design, deployment, approval, scale-up and measurement of digital assets solutions / capabilities targeted at; Corporate, Financial Institutions, NBFIs, VASP, along with other Group segments.

• Product Strategy & Scope: Leading the digital assets strategy for GTB. Applying digital assets to a full range of cash management solutions, including but not limited to: Payments, Liquidity, Treasury, Cashpooling, Accounts, Channels, Network Management, Supply Chain Finance, Receivables, Confirming. Typical digital assets include but are not necessarily limited to: tokenized deposits, stablecoins, reserve-backed digital currencies, central bank digital currencies, and other tokenized assets which may be relevant to the cash management and GTB business.

• Governance / reporting: upwards communication to senior management and stakeholders (both SCIB and Group) - regarding key OKR information / metrics relating to: strategy, P&L (forecasting & actual), book of work delivery, status, expenditure (capex & opex) risk, compliance, and legal. Alignment, feeding into the SCIB Crypto Domain representative. Representation of GTB, and participation, within Group Crypto Domain.

• Client-facing: Join front office team interactions with clients; understand requirements, translating into product design / roadmap / delivery. Participate in RFP proposals.

• Collaboration: Collaborate with other Product and Sales Directors in the Management team, and their respective teams to deliver cross-functional solutions for Corporate, Financial Institutions, NBFIs, VASP, along with other Group segments. Adapt existing products to segments such as VASPs and PSPs - which require high degrees of control compliance, and operational alignment.

Professional Experience

• A combined 5-7 years across Product Owner / Manager / Director roles (Required)

• 3+ years hands-on experience with product delivery of digital assets / crypto / DLT (Required)

Education

• Business or technology based degree (Required)

• Beneficial if focused on strategy, product, engineering, computer science, finance, economics etc.

Languages

• English (Required)

Hard Skills

• Highly skilled / knowledgeable in digital assets - ability to demonstrate a depth of knowledge and understanding in the fundamentals; from technology, product, compliance, and legal perspective (Required)

• Deep technical expertise not required, but an understanding of how digital assets impact FS & banking is imperative.

• Highly skilled / knowledgeable in product ownership and management (of product owners) (Required)

• Solid understanding of banking products and processes (Required)

• Product design skills with demonstrated new product design / delivery experience and methodologies (Required)

• Project management and prioritisation skills with ability to demonstrate projects / initiatives (Required)

• Highly proficient with PowerPoint, Excel, and Word doc applications (Required)

• Passionate and self-motivated

• Ability to translate client requirements into measurable product outcomes

• Ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced, delivery-focused environment

(Travel may be required as the role is global)
