JOB DESCRIPTION: HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGER

Mission: To develop occupational risk prevention practices through the implementation of occupational risk prevention policies, as well as to collaborate in the design of action plans for the security of factory and/or port facilities and dealing with insurance providers (if necessary), under the guidelines of the HR Director, and with the aim of guaranteeing the safety of people, facilities and business activity of the organization.

Main responsibilities

1. Define the policy on occupational risk prevention and occupational health

• To develop the mandatory documentation in the field of Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics and Applied Psychosociology, and to establish the action protocols.

• Collaborate in the definition of action plans for monitoring and organising Health Surveillance.

• Design and lead the implementation of emergency and evacuation plans, as well as annual mandatory drills.

• Design and carry out training actions for new and periodic annual staff.

• Define the criteria for the control of the Group's accidents and occupational diseases, report monthly to the Area Director and collaborate in setting objectives for their reduction.

• Coordinate the participation of the business side in the Health and Safety Committees, by workplace, organization of meetings and participation in agreements.

• Collaborate in the development of safe work policies and protocols in accordance with legal compliance. Management Manual.

• Comply with the Safety Analysis (ER) protocol, hygienic measurements, ergonomic studies and medical examinations.

• Control compliance with certifications

• Supervise compliance with the monitoring procedure for the coordination of business activities.

• Implement health campaigns.

• Develop criteria for the selection and choice of personal protective equipment

Technical Function Development

• Drafting of Occupational Risk Assessments of the production lines and job positions.

• Ensure certifications and training are up to date.

• Periodic training of personnel in the field of Occupational Safety.

• Training of new staff according to the Law.

• Accident investigations.

• Job studies.

• Environmental hygienic measurements.

• Ergonomic studies of the workstations.

• Establish technical characteristics of Personal Protective Equipment

• Collaboration in psychosocial and work environment studies.

Hierarchical relationship: you will report directly to the HR Director.

Internal and external stakeholders: HR, Factory Manager, Production Manager, Fleet Manager, Labor Relations Office (External), Union, etc.

What is expected from you?

People management responsibility: a Health and Safety technician and/or an assistant.

Background required: at least 3 years of experience in a similar position. A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Human Resources Management or similar is a must. Training in Healthe & Safety related field( SAMTRAC/NOSA) will be an added advantage.
