  • 4 to 8 yrs. relevant experience

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate well to project stakeholders including senior leadership and cross-functional partners

Overview

Frito-Lay Supply Chain Engineering is seeking a Packaging Engineer (L08 or L09) to lead technical packaging support for capacity, productivity, innovation and new technology developments.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting of scoping and design recommendations for Frito Lay packaging lines.
  • Support installation and start-up activities for new capacity production lines and productivity projects at Frito Lay facilities and occasionally contract manufacturers.
  • Responsible to drive continuous improvement and development for packaging equipment.
  • Participate in and lead cross-functional teams of colleagues and outside resources. Position works closely with Frito Lay
  • Operations, Maintenance, R&D, Equipment vendors, and external engineering and construction contractors.
  • Apply Engineering principles to problem solving and managing unexpected changes.
  • Adequately manage, communicate and mitigate project risks.
  • Develop, manage and execute equipment installation and start-up plans while supervising outside contractors and vendors.
  • Manage multiple simultaneous project deliverables, accelerated timelines and competing priorities
  • Partner with OEMs to continuously improve equipment design offerings, upgrades, training, and maintenance initiatives.
  • Develop into a subject matter expert (SME) for Frito Lay's packaging equipment. Typical packaging equipment involves product distribution conveyor systems, weighing, bagmaking, case erecting, case packing, and palletizing.
  • Expected travel: 25% to 40%

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $93,500 - $156,450.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 10% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.
