WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for a Senior Design Manager with hands-on information architecture and service design expertise to lead our Experience-Led Growth (ELG) initiatives. If you're someone who knows how to combine designed craft with engagement and conversion loops, and wants to define how millions experience and grow with our product, this is the role for you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Own the end-to-end design vision for our ELG initiatives, guiding creators, agencies, and marketing experts through their journey from activation to expansion and monetization.
• Report directly to the head of product design and build strong partnerships with engineering and product leadership.
• Inspire and mentor the growth design team to create human-centered solutions that elegantly balance user needs with business objectives.
• Collaborate strategically with cross-functional teams to craft and deliver experiences that create lasting user satisfaction while driving business growth.
• Lead strategic exploration initiatives that identify and de-risk high-impact experience opportunities with significant potential.
• Oversee comprehensive research and discovery initiatives spanning your product area and potentially the entire product ecosystem with peers from product, design, and marketing teams to ensure informed decision-making.
• Guide the complete design process from opportunity identification and discovery through ideation, implementation, and delivery.
• Be an ambassador for design excellence and ensure deliverables consistently meet user needs while driving measurable business impact.
• Cultivate an environment where innovation, creativity, and collaboration thrive both within your team and across the organization.
• Effectively balance strategic leadership with hands-on design contributions, providing mentorship and sharing expertise as needed.
• Build and develop world-class design talent through strategic hiring and team development.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Leadership & team orientation

• Cultivate a supportive culture by celebrating milestones, seeking collaboration, and emphasizing shared wins.
• Provide constructive feedback and share knowledge across product group teams to elevate overall design standards.

Growth Design

• Own the experience strategy for your area, set a high standard for design quality, and encourage team performance, creating alignment across design, product, and engineering around shared growth goals.
• Champion a human-centric design approach by deeply understanding user behaviors, motivations, and pain points to create intuitive and delightful experiences.

Data-Informed Design

• Lead how your area measures compound UX metrics related to activation, retention, and feature adoption of core jobs to identify areas for improvement and continuous optimization.
• Increase activation and expansion into our platform, uncover user journey friction, and remove it through thoughtful design interventions.

Domain Knowledge & Product Sense

• Learn and understand Manychat's product, the market, and customers' ambitions to guide design choices.
• Look beyond the immediate requirements and tackle complex challenges by creating practical and innovative customer-focused solutions.

TO SHINE IN THIS ROLE 💥

You'll need:

• 10+ years of experience in product design, with at least 4 years leading cross-functional teams in ELG or growth environments.
• A strong portfolio of growth-driving product work, especially across onboarding, activation, and retention.
• Deep fluency in user behavior, product psychology, and lifecycle design, and experience in nurturing and coaching designers for professional growth.
• Experience designing and scaling experimentation systems and frameworks (e.g., A/B testing, metric instrumentation).
• Deep understanding of AI and Mobile interface design principles.
• Proven ability to balance fast iteration with long-term design quality through developing a vision for the holistic growth experience, and continuously optimizing shipped experiences while burning down UX debt.
• Strong systems thinking, information architecture skills, and design expertise on patterns for multi-channel, component-based environments.
• Experience managing organizational change with cross-functional peers and familiarity with working in a matrix organization, aligning multiple stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication and storytelling skills to articulate strategic design decisions and lead a culture of innovation.
• Understanding of the psychological patterns of users oriented to growth 
• Growth mindset: Solid understanding of retention, churn, retention among other key aspects expected within the growth area. 

It would be great if you have:

• Proven experience leading and managing remote/hybrid design teams successfully in tech start-ups and scale-up contexts.
• Solid understanding of computational principles (e.g., data structures), automation concepts, and automation workflows.
