Position Summary
The Quality Continuous Improvement (CI) Intern will support quality and continuous improvement initiatives under the direction of the Quality Manager. This role offers hands-on experience with lean manufacturing principles, Kaizen events, quality systems, and data tracking while contributing to meaningful improvement efforts across the division.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the employee suggestion program, including tracking and reporting associated monthly data.
- Provide support in maintaining and improving the division's 5S program.
- Monitor training requirements and assist in providing resources to meet requirements defined in the MAFACT system.
- Facilitate and support Kaizen events, including development of action plans and ensuring timely and effective event closure.
- Support internal and external audits led by the Quality department.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Experience or exposure to lean manufacturing principles, 5S, continuous improvement projects, and/or capacity planning.
- Basic knowledge of quality systems or manufacturing quality concepts preferred.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Positive, "can-do" attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Adaptable and comfortable learning new software systems and tools.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team-based environment.
