Business Development Manager - Antitrust & Competition (Europe)
Requirements
Key responsibilities include:
- Working with practice group chairs, Brussels office leadership, and BD colleagues to ensure close coordination across the region and globally on the practice’s strategic priorities
- Collaborating with firm resources to prepare research, analysis, and reporting to support the identification and development of new client relationships and the enhancement of existing ones
- Staying abreast of developments and trends in relevant areas, while developing in-depth knowledge of, and acting as a resource on, lawyer and practice group expertise, the client base, and relevant trade organizations
- Identifying and overseeing compelling thought leadership opportunities in partnership with lawyers, BD, Events and Brand & Communications
- Supporting the integration of lateral partners and the development of junior partners
- Providing practice-specific guidance to the firm’s New Business Team on pitches and RFPs
- Developing and maintaining practice content for the proposal management system and ensuring that all necessary BD materials are up to date
- Overseeing the development of practice-specific directory and award submissions
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Bring a strong understanding of core marketing and BD principles, including communications, events, branding, market research, competitive intelligence, credentials and pitching
- Display strong leadership, planning and problem-solving skills, alongside sound analytical ability and confidence presenting insights to senior stakeholders
- Exhibit well-developed, professional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with people at all organisational levels of the firm
And have:
- Relevant BD and marketing experience in a legal or professional services environment, ideally within Antitrust & Competition or similar practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and another European language (preferably French or German)
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

About the Role
The Business Development Manager - Antitrust & Competition (Europe) is an integral part of Latham's Business Development (BD) team. The role supports the practice's growth strategy and client service efforts across Europe by developing a deep understanding of the firm's lawyers and clients to drive strategic priorities, including client engagement and relationship building. This role will be based in our Brussels office and is eligible for a flexible hybrid working schedule.
