The role

As we continue to scale our operations in Poland, we are transitioning our finance functions from a shared support model in the headquarters to dedicated local experts. We are looking for a highly organized and proactive Accountant to take ownership of our day-to-day financial operations. You will be the "engine room" of our Polish entity's finance department, ensuring everything from payroll to intercompany recharges runs with precision.

 

What you'll do

Financial Operations & Cash Management

  • Cash Flow & Banking: Lead daily cash management activities and perform meticulous bank reconciliations.
  • Payroll Accounting: Manage the payout process and ensure accurate accounting of payroll entries, working closely with HR and external providers.
  • General Ledger Management: Maintain the GL, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaboration: Act as the primary point of contact for cross-functional communication with third-party vendors and service providers.

Reconciliations & Compliance

  • Balance Sheet Integrity: Conduct monthly Balance Sheet (BS) reconciliations to ensure full transparency and accuracy of our financial position.
  • Tax Data Delivery: Prepare and deliver data packages for VAT and CIT declarations to ensure compliance with Polish tax regulations.
  • Intercompany: Manage intercompany recharges and reconciliations within the global HelloFresh Group.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Ad Hoc Requests: Provide flexible support for ad hoc reporting requests from the local management team or Global HQ.
  • Audit Support: Assist in year-end audit processes and internal control reviews.

 

What you'll bring

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in accounting, ideally within an international fast-paced environment (e.g., FMCG, E-commerce, or Big 4)
  • Technical Skills: Strong command of IFRS and Polish GAAP. Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP or Microsoft Dynamics), familiarity with Oracle Fusion is a plus; High proficiency in spreadsheet operations (e.g. MS Excel, Google Spreadsheets)
  • Language: Fluent in English and Polish (written and verbal) is essential for collaboration with both local and global teams
  • Mindset: You are a "self-starter" who thrives in a transition environment. You enjoy building processes rather than just following them
  • Eager in self-education in modern tools and technologies and adoption for own work environment
  • Team player with a positive attitude and a sense of humor
