Requirements

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience in sound design within the video game industry.
  • Sound recording skills and experience.
  • Robust portfolio or demo reels showcasing your work.
  • Proficiency with standard industry DAWs (e.g., Pro Tools, REAPER, or Ableton).
  • Proficiency in audio midware such as Audiokinetic Wwise.
  • Familiar with software development industry tools (e.g., Perforce, JIRA and Confluence).
  • Solid understanding of the technical and creative aspects of interactive sound design.
  • A good level of written and verbal English.
  • Team player and collaborator.
  • Organized, curious, proactive, autonomous, and respectful.
  • Passion for games and storytelling through audio.

As an Audio Designer, you will collaborate with the Audio Director, Audio Team, and cross-disciplinary teams within the creation department to design and integrate high-quality sound effects for an upcoming cross-platform title, contributing to a rich and immersive player experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, edit, and implement high-quality sound effects by recording audio, sound libraries and creative sound design techniques for in-game content, environments, UI, and cinematics.
  • Collaborate with the Audio Director, Audio Team, and production team to establish the game's sound identity and designing sound systems in the Audio Middleware or the Game Editor.
  • Integrate audio assets using an internal game engine and middleware (Wwise).
  • Troubleshoot and optimize audio systems and assets for performance and platform-specific requirements.
  • Participate in review and mixing sessions to continuously improve audio quality and integration.
  • Maintain a well-organized library of assets and adhere to file naming and version control protocols.
  • Contributing to build an inspiring interactive audio culture in the Bucharest studio.
  • Acting as the bridge and main point of contact between Bucharest's teams and the World Audio Department in Montreal.
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and techniques in sound design and game audio.
