Senior Financial Crime Compliance Investigations Officer - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Ebury London Office - Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home per week

We are looking for a proactive candidate who is able to summarise complex financial crime issues for busy, senior people. 

The Role

Headquartered in London and with 20+ offices worldwide, the firm is a Global FinTech provider that aims to apply new technologies to enhance and automate financial services and processes. This allows small and medium-sized businesses to trade and transact internationally by eliminating boundaries related to more traditional procedures.

As an FCC Investigations Officer, you will work in the Financial Crime Compliance department

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, assess and process internal SARs and internal investigations in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ensure clear communication with all relevant parties
  • Present the findings from SARs and investigations to relevant stakeholders throughout the company.
  • Maintain accurate recordkeeping
  • Increase the effectiveness of the FCCI team by proposing new processes and changes to existing processes
  • Respond to external requests from external stakeholders and bodies, including banking partners, law enforcement and the ombudsman
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders on complex cases
  • Engage in proactive horizon scanning, identifying new and emerging risks
  • Design and deliver SAR training to different teams across the organization 

Key Competencies and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of Investigative experience (Financial Crime Investigations experience ideal but not essential);
  • Experience using investigative tools, such as Orbis, LexisNexis, and open source resources;
  • Experience identifying and investigating red flag issues, including litigation, political exposure and corruption;
  • Understanding of red flags for financial crime;
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills and ability to work under time pressure;
  • High competency in Microsoft Office suite and Google Docs software (desired);
  • An additional language would be a bonus; and
  • Experience writing high-quality and thorough investigative reports, with the ability to defend and explain findings and make recommendations.
