Senior engineer role in a GCP-native AI engineering team within SAS/CitDev, building customer-facing conversational solutions and agentic workflows for regulated banking use cases. The team delivers chatbots and LLM-powered process orchestration on Google Cloud (Vertex AI, ADK, RAG), with strong focus on production quality, governance, and scalable delivery using Terraform and GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver agentic workflows using Google ADK and Vertex AI, integrating reliable tool-calling with enterprise services and clear fallback/escalation paths.
• Build and operate RAG-enabled chatbot capabilities (e.g., Vertex AI Search/Data Stores, DialogFlow where applicable), optimizing relevance, grounding, and user experience.
• Own production-grade engineering across the lifecycle: architecture, implementation (Python/TS), testing, code reviews, and operational readiness (monitoring, runbooks, handover).
• Establish evaluation and quality gates for LLM features (e.g., RAGAS, golden datasets, regression suites) and drive continuous improvement based on metrics and feedback.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across technology, product, operations and risk to align scope, manage dependencies, and ensure delivery meets governance, security and regulatory expectations.

Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud GenAI: Vertex AI and Google ADK (agent orchestration, tool-calling, safety patterns).
• Proven production experience with RAG systems (retrieval tuning, embeddings, chunking, grounding/citations) and conversational applications (chatbots/agents).
• Excellent software engineering in Python (primary) plus working TypeScript/JavaScript; API design, testing, performance and maintainability.
• Infrastructure-as-Code and delivery automation: Terraform on GCP and CI/CD with GitHub Actions; operational excellence mindset.
• Security and compliance awareness for regulated environments (PII handling, auditability, access control, prompt-injection/data-leakage mitigations).
