The Financial Systems team provides technology expertise to the finance department, and is responsible for SAP HANA and connected 3rd party systems at Booking.com. We want to change the way people work with SAP, by building a finance application platform that supports simplification of business processes, and empowers the finance community with better financial insights.

As an Associate BI engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining reporting solutions. You will have a thorough understanding of SAP HANA or dbt Tool and Snowflake and data integration and responsible for designing and implementing business requirements as well as data accuracy in reports. You will support the team in day-to-day SAP HANA development and support, migration to snowflake and monitoring the production environment, identifying and fixing issues, and improving system performance. As this role involves daily interaction with the finance department, it is essential that you have a good background in finance, and strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

B.Responsible:

• Development and support of Data and BI environment in collaboration with finance stakeholders

• Ongoing development and maintenance of SAP HANA reporting platform and future migration to snowflake.

• Responsible for data loading, monitoring and system performance

• Engage with users to understand their needs and develop/maintain application, logical and technical data architectures

• Integration and implementation of changes

• Training of key users

B.Skilled:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field

• 2+ years of expertise in the IT area

• 2+ years of experience in implementing SAP HANA based data warehousing solutions is a plus

• Experience in HANA XSA development is mandatory

• Experience with SAP HANA modeling including Graphical Calculation views, Table Functions and SQL procedures is mandatory

• Ability to write complex SQL Script is mandatory

• Understanding on Dimensional Modelling or Data Vault.

• Understanding of different descriptor file formats like YAML

• Good to have knowledge in SAP datasphere or dbt Tool & Snowflake

• Exposure to Apache Airflow or any similar orchestration tool is a plus

• Exposure to security concepts in Snowflake is a plus

• Optimization of Models, Understanding Plan Viz Performance tuning is a plus

• Understanding the concepts of HANA Security and Authorization is a plus

• Proven ability to adopt new technologies

• Ability to have good grasp of the detail and manage multiple priorities

• Able to work in a quick turnaround environment

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

• Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written

• Independent, organized, flexible, proactive and result-oriented

• Knowledge of SAP HANA XSA, SAP SAC, HANA Web IDE, SAP ABAP and/or GIT is preferred.

B.Qualified:

• Knowledge of XSOData, SAPUI5, Gateway, Fiori application deployment is added advantage

• Experience with Tableau is a plus

• Functional knowledge of SAP S4 as a data source (GL, AR, AP, Tax, SAP FICA etc.)is a plus

• Knowledge of agile development processes (SCRUM or Kanban) and experience with Jira a plus
