Basic purpose of the job:

Lead the Market Development group to drive Above-Market Growth and fully leverage the value of key pipeline assets within TA-Obesity and Liver Health, particularly survodutide (Obesity/MASH).

He/She is responsible to developing the end-to-end market development strategy for directly executing key market development initiatives, while also leading and orchestrating cross‑functional members who are accountable for other market development related projects. Through strategic leadership and hands‑on execution, the role ensures the creation of the necessary market conditions and delivery of critical initiatives that maximize the TA portfolio's potential and enable the performance maximization of Must‑Win Assets.

Accountabilities - Related performance indicators

1. Market Development Strategy

・Develop and lead a comprehensive market development strategy that addresses the full patient journey to maximize the potential of survodutide across Obesity and MASH. Ensure the strategy is fully aligned with the local asset strategy to maintain strategic consistency and coherence across functions.

・Continuously monitor and interpret the evolving market environment-including clinical trends, diagnostic pathways, regulatory dynamics, competitive activities, and stakeholder behaviors-and integrate these insights to refine and strengthen the market development strategy.

- Strategy Quality and Completeness: timely delivery; clear articulation of priority barriers & opportunities grounded in validated insights; alignment across Global Brand Plan (GBP), local asset strategy

- Insight‑Driven Strategy Refinement: timely (e.g., quarterly) strategy refresh to reflect latest status

- Strategic prioritization & focus: balance strategic investment with impact and viability

2. Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration & Execution

・Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams(e.g., Medicine, Marketing, MAHA and Corporate Affairs) to design and execute comprehensive, insight-driven market development initiatives. Ensure each initiative has a clearly defined objective, owner, and contribution to the overall market development strategy, enabling coherent and focused execution across functions.

・Establish and lead a focused cross‑functional governance structure for market development that enables deep strategic discussions, timely prioritization and course‑correction, and proactive action‑tracking. Ensure that governance forums drive alignment, resolve cross‑functional issues, accelerate decision‑making, and maintain strategic consistency across all market development activities.

3. Strategic Project Leadership

・Act as the strategic lead for key projects assigned by the TA Head, ensuring end‑to‑end leadership from scoping to execution. Drive cross‑functional alignment, clarity of roles, and seamless coordination across stakeholders to enable timely, high‑quality delivery of project objectives.

・Lead project planning, prioritization, and issue resolution with cross‑functional team members. Proactively identify risks, escalate where appropriate, and course‑correct to keep projects on track.

・Serve as the central orchestrator who maintains project momentum, facilitates decision‑making, ensures high‑quality deliverables, and keeps senior leadership informed through clear communication and structured progress updates.

Regulatory and / or Organizational Requirements:

・Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with respective applicable BI Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), BI Code of Conduct, BI processes and regulatory requirements. Ensure that all interactions and engagements are carried out with the highest ethical and professional standards and that all work is accomplished with quality and in accordance with BI values as well as complying with local, and where relevant international law e.g. Data Protection Law of Japan / GDPR EU

・Output documents: Quarterly TA update report, contributions to CDP/IEP, updated cost tracking sheets, local integrated brand plans

Job Complexity:

・Strong strategic thinking and ability to establish strong working relationship with stakeholders to effectively work cross functionally.

・Provides strong leadership in guiding members and strong vendor management skills to plan and execute initiatives that are aligned to the overall strategy.

Minimum Education/Degree Requirements:

Bachelor's degree
